Over the past couple of years I've had a roller-coaster ride learning the fine art of coppering, or at least the basics. As one of my inspectors tells me, officers are always learning, you will never know everything about the job. I think that's an excellent summary. There are plenty of appropriate metaphors for being a police officer, but I try and keep hold of the thought 'I'll never know it all' as I go about my day. I hope it will stop me becoming complacent. I'm also doing my level best to avoid becoming lazy and work-shy like some of my more jaded colleagues.
I'm now confirmed in rank and having spent nearly eighteen months on section my views have been modified somewhat.
My previous blog focused on my experiences though training, however it rather lost focus as my enthusiasm for blogging tailed off. With so much pissing me off right now I thought it would be an opportune moment to start afresh and put some more effort in.
I'm aiming to make some regular contributions to this blog, which will no doubt centre on my concerns, gripes and opinions on various matters. I hope you'll enjoy it...
